With over 30 years of horse experience, Susanne and Lisa — a mother-daughter team — operate The Serenity Ranch, a western-style rescue and empowerment ranch in Connecticut. From miniature horses to Clydesdales, they’ve cared for them all, with a focus on rehabilitating the injured, rescuing the neglected, and offering sanctuary to senior horses who now live out their lives in peace.

Grounded in western horsemanship, their approach emphasizes trust, respect, and real connection — not competition. Their lifelong passion for horses evolved into something greater: creating a space where women and girls could find strength, purpose, and resilience through hard work and horse partnership.

Now rooted in Connecticut, The Serenity Ranch offers one-day programs for women, girls, and female veterans. It’s more than a horse rescue — it’s a place where people rediscover their power through grit, sweat, and the quiet wisdom of horses.
